OUR APPROACH

Welcome to Regener8ive Solar

Solar development systems should be designed as an element of the landscape they belong to, according to an 'inclusive' design approach that not only focuses on the overall energy efficency of the system, but also extends to additional vocational, ecological, and landscape services implementing against Sustainable Development Goals, including:

What is Regener8ive Solar?

Regener8ive Solar is how we use Clean Energy Development as a catalyst to regenerate the land. Traditional approaches to project development have been driven by maximising the number of megawatts and minimising the total land used. At Regener8 Power we recognise that it is important to deliver commercially viable projects but these can’t be at a cost to the environment. Regener8 Power’s development approach shifts the focus to 6 key areas:
SOLAR POWER PRODUCTION
  • Energy system efficiency
  • Optimized system configuration
CARBON MANAGEMENT
  • Natural climate solutions

  • Certification of carbon reduction

SOCIAL IMPACT
  • Early stage involvement of local community

  • Possibility of community investment into the project

MULTIPLE LAND USE
  • Combination with agricultural or alternative use

  • Implementation of nature-based Solution / ecology revenue

SUSTAINABILITY
  • Decommission friendly planning

  • Recycling plan for all components

  • Benchmarking of suppliers

LANDSCAPE & BIODIVERSITY
  • Integrated within the solar design

  • Solar design as a catalyst to rewilding

We ensure that each site looks to maximise where possible on all of these key areas to deliver increased impact and returns.
Regener8ive Solar is implemented through:
AGRIVOLTAICS
Produces sustainable food and green energy with PV system designs that accommodate crops.
ECOVOLTAICS
Integrates biodiversity and landscape measures within the design of our energy systems.
REGENER8 EARTH
Provides solutions to realise additional Regener8ive Solar incomes for the Regener8 Power portfolio.

AGRIVOLTAICS

Rising demand for solar generation is leading to increased land use competition which potentially results in economic and social conflict. A solution to this challenge is to produce sustainable food and green energy within an agri-photovoltaic (APV) system. The combination of high standing and/or ad-hoc solar structures with semi-transparent PV panels allow crops to grow underneath and/or in combination without affecting the production as well as minimizing the yield losses.

ECOVOLTAICS

The integration of biodiversity and landscaping measures within the design of our energy systems allows our projects to deliver ecological interventions and ecosystem services which protect, enhance and restore the original landscape. By creating new habitats and recovering health to soil nutrients, the Ecovoltaic projects offer additional carbon storage highlighting the dual use of the site area.

These interventions contribute, not only to green energy generation but also as catalyst to restore landscapes and enhance the ecosystems services.

  • Landscape assessment to re-enact the original landscape to preserve, protect and regenerate the landscape residuals.
  • Identification of the main ecological issues and design strategy for ecology enhancement;
  • Technology (frames and modules) selection; irradiance simulation and Yield;
  • Identification of a spectrum of suitable species and habitats to enhance the provision of ecosystems services
  • Identification of potential environmental and socio-economic impacts and community benefits.
SEE ECOVOLTAICS IN THE FIELD
Nature is demonstrated to be the key when addressing threats such as soils erosion, floods, clean water provision and societal challenges. Nature-based Climate solutions have shown particularly promising results in addressing these multiple challenges.

Implementing natural solutions have become a crucial aspect within the development process of renewable systems and are at the core of the Regener8ive Solar concept.

These solutions provide not only environmental provisioning and regulating services, such as carbon avoidance, but also cultural and social services. Additionally, the implementation of natural climate solutions acts in support of the renewable infrastructures minimising climate change impacts, enhancing social acceptance, mitigating flood risks and reducing significantly maintenance & operational costs.

Regener8 Earth has developed a solution that allows our assets to benefit from the Regener8ive Solar methodology and realise the additional income streams outside of electricity generation.

Our innovative concept does not only increase revenue streams but also increases social and community acceptance, increasing the chances to receive a positive planning decision.

We also look to offer more impactful solution to community benefit requirements both inside the fence and also in the immediate vicinity to the project.
